Mental effort put into your job or your studies should always be followed by some physical one.
Spending some time at the court, in the gym or at the swimming pool will help you to relax and recuperate before coming back to work. Such forms of relaxation are worth our attention especially in winter when the weather may prevent us from going for a walk or taking a bicycle ride. ![]() Poznań has a range of modern facilities where one can work out, play tennis, take a swim, or even ski, no matter the season. Malta Ski is one of the earliest built, and at the same time one of the best equipped ones. It is an all-year-round ski centre, situated at the beautiful lake in the centre of Poznań. The plastic surface of the more than one hundred metre high slope makes it possible to ski and skateboard even on hot days, while the slope is artificially snowed in winter. The centre has ski equipment rental facilities and its qualified trainers are of assistance to anyone who is new to the game. The grounds surrounding the Malta lake are a great place for those who prefer walking, jogging or bicycle riding. Those who don’t like to go outside in winter in order to stay fit can take to a sport indoors. A great place for that is Niku sports centre located at Poznań district of Piątkowo. A modern, fully automated bowling alley (Niku Bowling) is available for all bowling lovers, while those who are fond of other forms of physical activities can go for aerobics, spinning or working out in the gym. Having practised some sport, we can relax at the sauna or a steam bath. Nautilus recreation centre at Chwiałkowskiego street is another place in Poznań to offer a very well-equipped gym. With the assistance of qualified instructors we will choose exercises which will be best for us. The centre also has spinning and aerobics classes on offer, and the facilities also include a swimming pool and a sauna. ![]() In order to avail oneself of the facilities at Nautilus, one has to buy an annual ticket. Exception is made only to students of higher education: they can opt for an annual ticket, a 9-month one, or a 6-month one. Arena Tennis Centre at Grunwald district offers its facilities for those who are less fond of aerobics of swimming. Four courts with artificial granulated surface are open to anyone who wants to play tennis either with a friend or use some help of an instructor. You can also try squash or table tennis as the facilities are also available there. Arena Centre holds numerous tournaments where players can try their skills. Special classes are organised for children and youth. Regrettably, Poznań lacks a well-equipped Aqua Park with swimming pools for both sports and recreation purposes. This year, however, a foundation stone was laid for such a facility. At the moment, several indoor swimming pools are available to Poznań citizens and visitors. The most recently built and, at the same time, the most modern ones belong to the Adam Mickiewicz University and the University School of Physical Education. There are also two good swimming pools near Poznań - at Swarzędz and Koziegłowy. ![]() |
