Poznań hosted a meeting of the representatives of six Polish cities that are to co-host the matches of the 2012 Football European Championships.
The main goal of the meeting was to prepare a common standpoint related to the question of applying for government grants which would cover 50% of the costs of the construction of new stadiums. The representatives also discussed the issues of the development of training centres, ways of obtaining grants for the development of road infrastructure, manners of accounting for constructions, and the preparation of tourist plans in individual cities. It has been suggested to follow the experiences of Germany and Portugal in these respects. After the talks ended, the representatives signed an agreement on cooperation between the six UEFA EURO 2012 Host Cities and a proposition for co-financing the stadiums which includes all the arrangements on the construction of stadiums and the accompanying infrastructure necessary to conduct the championships. ![]() Meeting of the representatives of the EURO host cities |
