The European Triathlon Federation decided that Poznań will hold one of the Triathlon European Cup competitions on 27 July 2008.

Triathlon European Cup will begin in April in a Spanish city Pontevedra. 13 cup competitions are planned for the season. In Poland, apart from Poznań, also Kędzierzyn Koźle will hold one of the Triathlon European Cup competitions.
