Poznań has presented itself as a candidate to the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2010. The application form consists of, among others, a guarantee of appropriate institutions, detailed maps, pictures of sports (and other) facilities and detailed information divided into 15 subjects, such as: sports facilities, educational-cultural programme, transport, vision and legacy, funds, accommodation. Other cities competing for the right to hold the Olympics are: Athens, Moscow, Debrecen, Algiers, Guatemala City, Turin, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore. The International Olympic Committee will announce the cities qualified for the final group of candidates on 19th November. The winner will be announced in February 2008.
