Poznań will be one of the cities hosting the European Basketball Championship for men in September 2009. 16 teams will participate in the Championship. The Sports hall Arena will host matches of one of the qualifying groups. The semi-finals will be held in Łódź and Bydgoszcz and the finals - in Katowice. Representatives of the Polish Basketball Association, which organizes the Championship, say that the best European basketball players will be playing in Poznań, among them, most likely, the world champions - the Spanish.
