Perhaps Wielkopolska and its capital, Poznań, will host the handball pre-olympic qualification tournament, which will take place next year.

The best teams will qualify for the Beijing Olympics. The Polish team stands a good chance of success; they have recently qualified for the finals of the Wolrd Championship that took place in Germany.
Poland’s celebration of the 90th anniversary of handball’s origins in Szczypiorno near Kalisz, a few dozen kilometers from Poznań, will provide an excellent background for the tournament.
