UEFA EURO 2012™ free from smoke. It means that at the stadiums during the cup there will be a complete ban of smoking and promotion and sale of tobacco. Also in Poznań.
The decision on complete ban on smoking at the stadiums during the cup in Poland and in Ukraine was taken by UEFA in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Heart Federation (WHF), European Healthy Stadium Network, local organizational committees (LOC) in Poland and in Ukraine and local groups supporting healthy lifestyle. “EURO 2012 free form tobacco respects the health of our audience and all people engaged in the cup” said Michel Platini, the president of UEFA, in his discussion at the website UEFA.com. “We support the highest standards of health, safety and comfort at our key tournament, and tobacco does not belong here.” He added. Complete ban on smoking cigarettes and their sale and promotion will be binding not only at stands, but also on the premises of the whole building. In addition the European Commission responsible for sport want also the fans’ zone to be free from tobacco. |
