Michel Platini’s visit

Michel Platini, president of the European Football Federation UEFA paid a working visit to Poznań. He was accompanied by outstanding guests: Martin Kallen: executive director of the UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, Frantisek Laurinec: member of the UEFA executive committee, Giorgio Marchetti: director of the UEFA tournament and Jacques Lambert: commissioner of the UEFA EURO 2012.

After the landing on Ławica, delegation became acquainted with the preparation of the airport to UEFA EURO 2012™, especially with the construction of the new terminal, parallel taxiway and parking places. The stage of progress didn’t raise any objections. Next, guests headed for the Municipal Stadium, which was very appreciated by Michel Platini, who saw it for the first time since its completion. Michel Platini said that he has no apprehensions concerning the city’s preparation for the event.

Michel Platini spent two days in Poland. During these days he visited all four cities which will organize football cup of Europe in 2012. Several weeks earlier a similar visit was paid by the UEFA president to Ukrainian cities.

Teams playing in given cities, including Poznań, will be announced at the beginning of December, after the drawing of final groups.
