Record marathonThe 12th Poznań Marathon is a historical one. This year the largest jogging event in Poland gathered a record number of participants: as much as 4702 runners from 34 countries. The record number of participants reached the finishing line – 4618.

4618 marathon runners signifies that Poznań retains the title of the Polish capital of running.

The marathon’s winner is the Mutuku Kyeva Cosmas from Kenya, who set the new record of the Poznań marathon route! The runner from Kenya needed 2 hours, 11 minutes and 53 seconds to reach the finishing line. This is the record of the Poznań Marathon; however, we need to remember that this year the route was different from the previous ones.

Among women, the best was the Polish runner Areleta Meloch who reached the finishing line after 2 hours, 39 minutes and 12 seconds.

A medal was waiting for every runner who reached the finishing line; this year it commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Palm House in Poznań. Many accompanying events took place in the framework of the marathon: Expo Fairs and runs at shorter distances.
