The new route of Poznań marathon is different from the previous ones; it is more challenging for the participants.
A new route was needed, as the city undergoes several large, simultaneous modernisations of streets and the previous route has been blocked. Of course the modernisation is related to the coming 2012 UEFA European Football Championship.
According to the requirements of the AIMS Association of International Marathons and Distance Races the exact measurement of the distance takes place on the 11th of September and after this date the 12 Poznań Marathon is announced.
Despite ongoing road construction work, which considerably limited the possibility to mark out a route which would offer attractive views, it is improved to such a degree which saves congestion of the whole city. This year’s 42.195 km constitutes a veritable challenge; participants will be encouraged by organized groups of supporters: students of primary and secondary schools, musical teams and remaining groups of fans who are for years present at the side of participants.
We would like to remind everybody, that the 12th edition of the Poznań marathon takes place on the 16th of October, 2011. Applications are accepted up to 9th of October 2011. |
