Poland's team became the world vice-champion in indoor hockey. At the 3rd Men's and Women's Indoor Hockey World Championship held in Poznań, during the final match the Polish team was defeated after the golden goal scored during the play-off with the German team 3: 2. 4.500 spectators watched the great and exciting game in one of the halls of the Poznań International Fair. The sports contest was wonderful and so little was missing to achieve the great success. In the previous two editions of the Indoor World Championship (in 2003 and 2007), the German team won twice and always defeated?the Polish team. This time, they proved to be better again. During the final match, the German team defeated the Dutch team 4: 2. The third place in case of men was won by the Austrian team, which defeated Russia 5:0 and in case of women ? the Ukrainian team, defeating the Belarusian team 4: 2.
