After cruising 5.400 kilometers over 98 days, Aleksander Doba has finally reached his destination. That makes him the first man in the world who has cruised alone across the Atlantic Ocean using only the power of his hands and not applying any security measures. Aleksander Doba was born and studies in Poznań. He is a graduate from the Poznań University of Technology. The Polish kayaker has rowed 64.000 km in total, including several- thousand ?kilometer cruises across the Polish seas. He has been practising kayaking since 1980.

He started his voyage on 26 October 2010 at 14:30 from Dakar in Senegal. On his website (http://aleksanderdoba.pl/) appeared the first entry? ?my voyage has already started?. Since then, he was all by himself, struggling with the nature, his psyche and weaknesses; he was paddling across the ocean waters to reach his destination ? Fortaleza in Brazil.

Despite unfavourable winds, which kept pushing him to the west, opposite drifts, tremendous fatigue and exhaustion,  he finally paddled ashore. Initially, he planned to complete his marathon in Fortaleza. However, because of the weather conditions he completed his voyage in a fishing village Acarau. Jacek Junosza-Kisielewski, the Polish ambassador in Brazil greeted him on the shore.

? The time of placing my foot on the continent and touching the dry land ? 14:12 (Polish time, 10:12 local time). Time of arriving in the Acarau port- 21:50 (Polish time, 17:50 local time). The kayak is covered with marsh marigolds below the water line. Loading the kayak on the carriage lasted two hours. It will go to Fortaleza. Now we are sitting in Tawerna restaurant in Paulo. I am drinking my first beer for the first time in 3 months ? Brazilian Bohemia. Olo has ordered a plate of sea fruits and vegetables. Tomorrow, I have medical examinations in Fortaleza and  press conference. It is OK :)?.
