Despite winter, Poznan has for several days been the capital of Polish horse riding. The premises of the Poznan International Fair hosted the POZNAŃ CUP CSI2*-W International Indoor Show Jumping Competition.
The winner of the Grand Prix competition was an Estonian - Rein Pill. Jarosław Skrzyński came second (KJ Agro-Handel Śrem).
The three-day competition (with prizes amounting to CHF 90,000) saw participation of nearly 200 contestants and 300 horses. Participants competed not only for cash prizes, but also points for the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) classification. Poznan Grand Prix contest was also one of the qualifying rounds of the World Cup Central European League.
Show jumping competitions took place in the halls of the Poznan International Fair as part of the Cavaliada equestrian event. The sporting events were also accompanied by an equestrian equipment fair, and was attended by organisations promoting recreation ?in the saddle? and committed to providing hippotherapy. The Cavaliada also included demonstrations of stunt riding, cavalry art and horse-and-cart competitions. |
