Poznan was the first UEFA EURO 2012 ? host-city to welcome the official tournament mascot. For the whole day mascots will tour around Poznan on a special bus and will meet children in characteristic places of the city.
The official tournament mascot is a pair of footballers designed by Warner Bros. The characters are dressed in traditional dress relating to the Polish and Ukrainian national colours.
Poznan Day, with the Mascot, was full of attractions. The mascots appeared at, among other places, schools that were awarded the prizes and honourable mentions in the ?POZNAN WELCOMES THE UEFA EURO 2012? MASCOT? competition. Children that took part in the contest worked in groups to design posters presenting Poznan's sights in a manner they wished to show them to the unusual UEFA guests.
The Mascots also visited children in one of Poznan's hospitals, the Ławica Airport, the City Stadium and Poznan's Old Market Square. |
