One objective of the conference was to disclose the European standards that could be implemented at Poznan's City Stadium to make management of the stadium as effective as possible. The invited speakers spoke about operating rules regarding the venues, possibilities of technological improvements and solutions to maximize profits.
Very practical experience was shared by Joachim Thomas, President of the German Stadium Operators Association, and Thorsten Brüdigam, President of an operator company HSG Zander which manages venues throughout Europe. Using the examples of the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt and the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, participants of the conference could examined standards of organisation of matches, concerts, shows and other events. On Saturday night, the stadium can be used as a concert hall, while on the following day, from midday, as a hockey arena. According to German experts, the stadium is a special venue ? and so it requires special know-how. What is of great importance is to continuously search for new solutions, technological improvements and organization of other projects besides sporting events. |
