New Zealand is hosting the 40th World Rowing Championship. The competitions will feature three Polish teams, including two groups from Poznan. Our city will be represented by Julia Michalska and Magdalena Fularczyk, and Magdalena Kemnitz. In the category of women's double duos, the competition will feature Julia Michalska and Magdalena Fularczyk, representing Tryton Poznan club; Magdalena Kemnitz, another participant from Poznan who represents the Posnania Poznan club and is sided by Agnieszka Renc from Warsaw, will fight in the women's light weight double duo category. The players who have flown to New Zealand also include a men's team entering the race in the 'men's eight' category. The last year's Rowing World Championship were held on Poznan's Malta Regatta Course. In the capital of Wielkopolska Julia Michalska and Magdalena Fularczyk have won a gold medal, while Magdalena Kemnitz and Agnieszka Renc, a silver one. We hope that this year's contestants from Poznan will perform equally well as in 2009. |
