The first match played by Lech Poznań?s players with Juventus Turin in the group games of the UEFA European League ended with a sensational 3-3 draw. The result of the match was even more surprising, as for most of the match Lech played as an equal opponent to the famous Juventus. The hero of the Poznan team was Latvian striker Artjoms Rudnews, who scored all three goals, including the final one which came in the 90^th minute of the match. Goals for Juventus were scored by Giorgio Chiellini (two goals) and Alessandro Del Piero (one).

The next match in the UEFA Europa League to be played by Lech Poznań will be against Red Bull Salzburg, which will be held in Lech?s own stadium on the 30^th of September. It will also be the first official match in the modernised municipal stadium, work was brought to an end at the beginning of September. Poznan?s stadium will be the first Polish arena prepared for EURO 2012.
