All Nordic walking enthusiasts will meet at the forthcoming weekend beside Malta Lake. Currently Nordic walking belongs to the most popular form of recreation. Compared with a traditional march, Nordic walking involves applying force to the poles on both sides, which is why Nordic walkers engage muscles more, although less intensively. Their muscles are also differently stimulated during Nordic walking, which results in a greater strengthening than the one achieved by walking or jogging. On the 18th of September a special event will be held for the Nordic walking enthusiasts. Those who would like to participate in the event will have a chance to take part in a march around Malta Lake over a distance of 5 kilometres (one lap of the lake) and 10,5 kilometres (two laps of the lake). |
