The final countdown to the official opening of the modernised municipal football stadium, one of the arenas hosting the UEFA EURO 2012 European Championships. Poznan will be the first city in Poland to complete construction and modernisation of the EURO 2012 stadium.

As yet a total of over 37,200 seats have been mounted in the stadium. Replacement of the old seating is about to come to an end in the lower parts of stands 2 and 4, where 6,000 additional seats are to be mounted any day now.

Additionally, a high-end sound system has been installed. The system consists of Outline loudspeaker sets, adapted specifically to work all year round in harsh weather conditions.

Thanks to the newest technologies employed, the stadium will meet all applicable requirements set by the football federation regarding functional division of the venue ? it is possible to set a configuration permitting speakers and safety services to address independent and immediate messages to specific sectors of the stadium.

The official opening of the stadium is scheduled for the 20^th of September 2010. The evening will be graced with the presence of the eminent British performer Sting, who will perform in Poznan as part of his worldwide ?Symphonicity' tour. The musician will be accompanied by London's Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Steven Mercurio.
