The World Rowing Championship, concluded a few weeks ago in Poznan, will go down in history as one of the best-organised events of this type.
Representatives of the World Rowing Federation repeatedly emphasised the quality of Poznan’s management, especially since over 1,500 participants from 44 countries took up the sporting challenge. In the medal rankings, the Germans outperformed everybody else, winning a total of 9 medals (4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze ones), followed by the New Zealand team (4-0-1) and the United States (3-3-1). After them came Italy (2-2-0), Poland (2-1-1) and Great Britain (1-5-1). Contestants from 21 countries won medals. |
