Marcin Gortat, the only Polish basketball player playing in the American NBA, has come to Poznan to promote basketball in general and the upcoming European Championship.
Gortat plays for the Orlando Magic and recently reached the finals with his team. His current trip included a training session conducted by the player, where mainly young basketball players were invited to participate. The camp’s participants were divided into seven groups and each group had its own trainer and other tasks to carry out. Exercises began with the most important element – a warm-up.
‘This is the basic part of the training session, without the warm-up it is very easy to sustain an injury, which is why you have to put a lot of emphasis on it’, said Gortat to the kids, who kept their eyes fixed on the Polish representative all the time.
After the training session, the kids had a chance to participate in many competitions with awards. |
