Several dozen canoeists recently visited Poznan. They participated in the 10th anniversary canoeing rally – Warta Tour 2009.
For almost a month, the participants of the rally had to cover almost 1,000 kilometres between Częstochowa (Southern Poland), and the capital city of Germany – Berlin. The route ran mostly through the Warta River and channels connecting the boarder Odra with Berlin. Only several of the best participants completed this enormously difficult route. Others covered only chosen sections of the rally. Participants of the Warta Tour 2009 stayed in Poznan for two days. They visited the city and took part in a small canoe competition around the island with the Poznan Cathedral. Picture 2 – Participants of the canoeing rally in Poznan |
