It is only 100 days to the 10th anniversary edition of the Poznan marathon. This year, several thousand sportsmen will run in the marathon to be held on the 11th of October.
The novelty will be the new route for this year’s marathon. While setting the route, which took several months, suggestions provided by runners were also considered. The start and finish of the marathon remain at the Malta Lake, however from the area of the lake, the runners will run towards the city centre, southwards and around the green spaces at the Warta River. Each runner will have to run such a loop twice. The route of the marathon was reduced by two several-kilometre long stretches which for many amateur runners had proved extremely difficult. According to specialists, the new marathon route is flatter, which facilitates achievement of better results, even within a range of 2 hours and 10 minutes. The record time on the old route was slightly longer than 2 hours and 15 minutes. |
