Renovation work in the Arena sports and entertainment hall has begun. In September, the Arena hall will be the site of a few matches within the framework of the European Basketball Championship.
In the upcoming weeks, the hall will be cleaned and painted. Changing rooms and guests rooms will be renovated and one of the training rooms will be converted into a press centre.
A press gallery for several hundred journalists from all over Europe will be built in the stands in August. At that time new parquet, brought from Germany, will also be fitted. On this occasion, the scoreboard and two backboards will be replaced. The ones in use now do not comply with very strict European Basketball Federation rules.
The European Basketball Championship will be held in Poland between the 7th and the 20th of September. Poznan will host matches played between the 7th and 9th of September. The national teams of Greece, Croatia, Israel and Macedonia will play in Poznan’s hall. The organisers expect around one thousand fans from Macedonia to arrive in Poznan. |
