In a couple of weeks, Poznan will be yet again hosting international tennis leaders.
City of Poznan is one of the sponsors of the ATP international tennis championships, held between the 18th and 26th of July.
The global economic crisis has also struck sports, and tennis in particular. This can also been seen in Poznan, where tennis organisers have had serious problems with finalising the championship’s budget. The City has decided to help though, and this is also why the championship has a new name: The Poznan Porsche Open ATP 2009.
The Championship pool will be lower than in previous years at 100,000 dollars. However, this event is still one of the best subsidised ATP challengers for advancing tennis players.
In previous years, such famous players as Dominik Hrbaty and Fabrice Santoro have played in Poznan. |
