The EURO2012 company is the first in Poland to have signed a contract for the development of the stadium where Euro2012 matches are to be played.

The EURO Poznań 2012 company is the first in Poland to have signed a contract for the development of the stadium where Euro 2012 matches are to be played. The construction of two missing stands and roofing is going to cost 486 mln PLN, and the stadium should be ready by mid 2010.
Development of the Poznan stadium is being handled by a consortium of companies: Hydrobudowa Polska S.A. In the place of dismantled stands I and III, two new ones will be constructed that, when joined together with stands II and IV, will constitute a complete stadium auditorium. One will be able to walk around the whole object on a long external promenade.
Stands, I, II and III are going to be roofed over and all spectator stands have been designed with seats. For the increased comfort of the fans visiting the stadium two large screens, which will show close-ups and replays, are also being built.
After modernisation, the stadium, along with the existing stands II and IV, will be able to seat 45,830 spectators. This number will be slightly less during the EURO 2012 matches, as part of the stands will be used to accommodate the media, leaving net seating space of about 41,018 for the championships.
Construction of the stands will be completed in October of the coming year. Later, when the stadium is roofed over, it will probably be closed for six months. The re-opening of the stadium after the modernisation is planned for June 2010.
