Another Dragon Boat World Cup took place in Poznań. Dragon boat races originated in Asia.

Competing boats have a dragon’s head on the prow. Each boat holds twenty oarsmen, a coxswain, and a drummer providing the rowing rythm.
It was the second cup organised in Poznań. The first one took place on Lake Malta in 2003. This year there were over 800 participants including oarsmen from New Zealand, Canada, Russia, China and Japan.
