For the ninth time an international marathon race will be organised in Poznań.

Poznań Marathon is the largest event of its kind in Poland and every year it attracts nearly 3000 participants from home and abroad. This year the race will take place on 12th October. As usual, the route runs from Lake Malta to the city centre.
Each runner will have to cover the distance of a 20-kilometre-long loop twice. Apart from a financial prize, the winner may also get a car. However, the condition that a runner has to meet in order to receive the car is to finish the race in less than 2 hours and 15 minutes. If the winner does not manage to do so, a draw will decide which of the participants who have finished the race will receive the car. Until now no one has ever managed to complete the race so quickly.
