Aula Nova, Poznan?s Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music, ul. Św. Marcin 87
The concert will resemble a fictional story about what the impact of folk music on Chopin could have been before the composer left Poland forever. Which elements of that music became most deeply embedded in his soul and which of the treasured melodies were fixed in his memory to be, later on, taken advantage of by him in the process of composing numerous preludes, mazurkas and sonatas. With the use of two pianos and many percussion instruments, the members of the quartet combine genuine, austere folk music with quotes from Chopin?s compositions.
