Since 2003, on the first weekend of September, the Days of Pyrland have been organised in the capital of Wielkopolska. The idea for the event originated with the preparations for the celebrations of the 750th anniversary of the foundation of Poznan. Following their first edition, the Days of Pyrland were recognised by the readers of the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper as one of the greatest jubilee events held in the city. From that moment on, every year, Poznan?s biggest f?te promoting the cuisine, culture, dialect and traditions of Wielkopolska, has gathered several dozen thousand inhabitants of the city.
The opening of the Days of Pyrland will be marked by a performance of the Kumka Olik rock band, which will take place at 3:00pm. This will be followed by performances by Pablopavo, the Alians group and the stars of the night ? the legendary bands Myslovitz and Strachy na Lachy. The event will end with a fireworks display.
