The Poznan University of Economics is planning to broaden its educational base by constructing an Educational Centre on ul. Towarowa.
The PUE Educational Centre for Electronic Services, for this is its full name, will be built in the place that is now occupied by the car park next to Building C of the Poznan University of Economics. It will provide an educational space for specialists in the fields of computer science, electronic economy and international economy.
Due to the characteristic shape of the colonnade, the front of the Centre will resemble the main building of the Poznan University of Economics located in front of Aleja Niepodległości. Construction works will begin next year.
The building will feature 7 storeys, including a two-level underground car park with a 120 car capacity. The Centre itself will have 5 over-ground storeys and a surface of 13,000 square kilometres. It will become the seat of two of the university?s departments: the International Economy Department and the Electronic Economy Department. The University?s Chair of Information Technologies will be moved from the Jeżyce district to the city centre. Apart from lecture and seminar rooms and laboratories, the complex will also feature a conference centre.
The design of the Centre was conceived at the Atrium architectural office. Construction cost is estimated at PLN 100 million. The investment undertaken by the Poznan University of Economics is to be co-financed by the European Union. According to the plan, the construction works will be completed in 2014. |
