Dancing PoznanIf you like dancing and would like to brush up on your skills or learn something new, you can now enrol in this year’s dancing workshops. From August the 14th-21st, the Contemporary Dance Workshops will take place in Poznan. At the same time, the organisers invite you to take part in the International Festival f Dance Theatres. For a couple of years now, ‘Dancing Poznan’ has been one of the greatest enterprises of this kind in Europe.

Every year, about 1,500 people arrive in Poznan to participate in the Contemporary Dance Workshops. They practise dancing under the guidance of a group of teachers from all over the world.

“Anyone can take part in the Workshops, regardless of their age and the level of physical preparation,” said Ewa Wycichowska, Director of the Polish Dance Theatre and the festival’s organiser. “As usual, we offer new, attractive dance techniques and styles as well as those that have enjoyed participants’ abiding interest for many years. There will also be several new faces among the teachers, from France, Honduras, Colombia, Hungary and Brazil,” added Katarzyna Anioła, the Workshops’ Organising Chair. Apart from dances intended for a wide audience including funky jazz, hip-hop new style, Brazilian samba and salsa, modern jazz underground, Irish dances, flamenco or Argentine tango, the organisers offer courses aimed at professional dancers, which will allow them to improve their skills. The latter include modern dance, girokinesis, contemporary dance, and body conditioning.

Registration for the Workshops is Internet-based. In order to enrol on a course of your choice, you need to register and then log into the system. For details please visit the website of the Polish Dance Theatre, who are hosting the event: www.ptt-poznan.pl
