MPK (City Transport) will purchase 45 low-floor trams from the Solaria company from Bolechów near Poznan. The new trams have been tested on Poznan streets for a couple of weeks now, but so far have been running empty. The inhabitants of Poznan will test the trams in mid-2011. From June 2011 until March 2012, 45 such modern trams will be running along the streets of Poznan, although we still do not know which lines will be equipped with the new cars. Originally, only 40 trams were to be purchased, however, we have managed to negotiate a price allowing Poznan to buy an additional 5 trams.
