The authorities of the City of Poznan have bought new narrow-gauge rail track, which will run to the new Zoo by Lake Malta. One train has a capacity of around 60 people. Three trains, planned to be running around the Zoo, consist of an engine and two cars. During the ride visitors will also be able to see the animals in their pens.
There will also be two new electric cars for the disabled in the Zoo. Six stops are planned to be built in the area of the park in the vicinity of the biggest attractions, such as the tiger pen and the new elephant house. There will be a multimedia information point at every stop. Each stop will have a different colour and will outline access spheres within every exposition area. Moreover, placement of 400 information boards, as well as launching of a railway Internet booking system and creation of a multimedia tourist information system are planned. The Poznan Zoo is one of the biggest zoological gardens in Poland ? it takes a good couple of hours to see the whole park. New railways and multimedia attractions should make it easier for visitors to learn what the Zoo has to offer. |
