A few days ago, The International Herald Tribune, an American daily newspaper published in Paris, ran a lengthy feature on Poznan. On the 2nd of April The International Herald Tribune ran a feature on Poznan. The author of the feature published in the Great Homes and Destinations section encourages people to invest on the Poznan property market, which is now as attractive as Warsaw?s. Poznan is a fast developing city where more and more modern buildings are being erected, and the conditions of everyday life are comparable to Western cities, despite the presence of the remains of old buildings from the previous system such as the railway station and several-decades-old prefab concrete settlements. The city?s location half way between Berlin and Warsaw, very good railway connection with Berlin, growing number of low-cost flights and continued construction of another A2 motorway section, all encourage people to settle in Poznan. ?Although Poznan?s 557,000 residents make it only the fifth-most populous city in the country, its status as a trade fair capital ? and its strategic position on the Berlin-Warsaw corridor ? have helped its real estate market grow and diversify to a degree comparable to that of the Polish capital.? ?(...) the city has a relaxed, prosperous air: a glitzy new shopping centre, built in a former brewery, is full of designer clothes shops like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger and international-style restaurants (?).?
