For a couple of days Poznań is going to be conquered by science fiction, fantasy and horror lovers. Between 25 and 28 August the 26th Polcon Fantasy-Lovers Convention will be held in Poznań. It is the biggest event of this kind in Poland.
The Polish Fantasy-Lovers Convention is a regular event, organized every year in a different city. This year it has been the third time that Polcon is held in Poznań. Over 700 hours of lectures, workshops and games divided into 10 different sections have been scheduled in the course of 4 days.
Science fiction literature has been an enormously popular genre in Poland for many years. The most renowned Polish science fiction writer was the late Sanisław Lem. His novels have been translated into dozens of languages. George Clooney starred, among others, in the latest film adaptation of "Solaris". |
