The Committee for Artistic Awards in Poznań City, chaired by Professor Roman Kubicki, and the Committee of Science Awards in Poznań, chaired by Professor Stanisław Lorenc, emerged as this year’s winners and scholarship recipients.
The Committee for Artistic Awards in Poznań City honoured Wacław Zimpel in 2011 for outstanding international achievements in the field of contemporary jazz music, which was confirmed by the appreciation of Polish and foreign critics. Jacek Kowalski PhD was honoured by the Committee of Science Awards in Poznań in 2011 for publication of his postdoctoral thesis "The Gothic Period of Greater Poland”. Art Scholarships will receive: Adam Banaszak was honoured for his versatility of artistic and organizational activities in the field of music. Tomasz Drewicz was honoured for outstanding achievements in the field of promotion and criticism of art and his own artistic creativity. Sandra Haniszewska and Tomasz Kandulski were honoured for outstanding achievements in the field of chamber music and the representation of Poznań City in the international arena. Ewa Kubiak was honoured for outstanding achievements in the field of painting and drawing. Karol Mossakowski was acclaimed for outstanding artistic achievement in organ music. Barbara Pilch was honoured for creative achievements in the field of sculpture. Ten young scientists received Scholarships. The highest Artistic and Scientific Award is 39,000 PLN. A once only art scholarship amounts to 7,666.66 PLN, and a scientific scholarship to 4,600 PLN. The award ceremony traditionally will be held on 29th June, during a solemn Session of the Council of Poznań City, in Poznań City Hall. The granting of scholarships takes place in October 2011. |
