The scientists from the Poznan University of Technology have won as many as 11 medals in the Eureka Contest of the International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies Brussels INNOVA. The exhibition was held at the end of November.
The International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies is one of the most important meetings of scientists who present there their innovative inventions. In this year?s edition of the Brussels exhibition the scientists from the Poznan University of Technology together won as many as 11 medals. The following projects won gold Brussels Eureka medals: Discreet rotary table ? prepared by the following team: Roman Staniek, PhD. Eng. Prof. of the University of Technology, Dr Eng. Piotr Frąckowiak, Dr Eng. Adam Myszkowski, Dr Eng. Krzysztof Netter, Dr Eng. Wojciech Ptaszyński. The discreet rotary table is a precise rotary positioning device whose basing and positioning basis consist in modified front serration cut by means of original methods developed in the Technological Machines Department of the Institute of Mechanical Technology at the Poznan University of Technology with the use of a new generation of numerically controlled multi-axis machine tools. Itiner ? a city transport timetable together with optimum transport connections search engine ? developed by Jacek Jelonek, Dr Eng. with his team. Itiner is one of the most popular mobile phone applications making it easier and faster for one to find city transport connections. The application has been prepared for the needs of the city transport in: Warszawa, Poznan, Wrocław, Krakow, Katowice, Sosnowiec, Gliwice, Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Zielona Góra and Białystok. The application shows the timetable and allows for searching of connections between stops and the most important points in the city offline and its online version enables one to look for connections between addresses. By cooperating with the city transport vehicles location system, it can provide information on the actual time of waiting for a bus or a tram along a given line. Moistening agent for extinguishing of fires in forests and peat bogs ? developed together by the Poznan University of Technology team, the ICSO Institute in Kędzierzyn Koźle and the CNBOP Centre in Józefów. The prize of the Inventiveness Incubator of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation was awarded to the 3D System of a disabled person?s characteristics? representation in ergonomics - Bogdan Branowski, Prof. Eng. Piotr Pohl, PhD. Eng., Dr Eng. Michał Rychlik, Dr Eng. Marek Zabłocki. ? developed by scientists of the Poznan University of Technology and the Poznan University of Life Science. The above inventions were also presented at the beginning of December at the Seoul International Invention Fair in South Korea. In Korea the 3D System of a disabled person?s characteristics? representation in ergonomics won a gold medal, silver medal was awarded to the discreet rotary table and the bronze medal to the Itiner system. |
