New building of the School of Humanities and Journalism
Monday, 29 November 2010 22:15

A new building of the School of Humanities and Journalism has been completed. The investment cost PLN 30 million (over EUR 7 million), including PLN 11 million (almost EUR 3 million) worth of EU funds.

The new building at ul. Kutrzeby has 5 floors and covers 8,000 square meters. In addition to lecture rooms, it houses a large Artis Hall including an auditorium for 600 people. The new hall will host productions of, among others: Polish Dance Theatre and Krystyna Janda's Teatr Polonia. At the beginning of the next year, the hall will be hosting a review of Jerzy Skolimowski's films.

A new building of the School of Humanities and Journalism is a part of the Poznan Academic Campus. Apart from the Poznan's school, the composition of the campus includes the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities. Both schools are planning to launch the first private large-campus Humanities University in Central and Eastern Europe. The long-term plan to convert the two private colleges into a single body - at first the Academy, and, then, University ? will above all elevate the quality of education and operation of the school to the highest European level.
